For AI assistants

Ask your assistant about CeyFi.

CeyFi runs a public MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants can answer questions about CeyFi, walk you through CeyFi Personal and ask the questions that set up your first budget, in conversation. It never sees your financial records.

01Connect

Add it to the assistant you use.

Menu names change from time to time; look for custom connectors or MCP servers in your assistant's settings.

  • Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app)

    1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
    2. Choose Add custom connector, name it CeyFi and paste the server URL.
    3. No sign-in or key is needed. Ask Claude about CeyFi and it will use the tools.
  • ChatGPT

    1. Turn on developer mode (Settings, Apps & Connectors, Advanced).
    2. Create a connector with the server URL and no authentication.
    3. Turn the connector on in a chat and ask about CeyFi.
  • Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients

    1. Add a remote server that speaks Streamable HTTP, pointing at the server URL.
    2. Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http ceyfi https://ceyfi.app/api/mcp
    3. Cursor and others: an entry with "url": "https://ceyfi.app/api/mcp" in the client's MCP settings.

02Tools

What an assistant can do.

Six tools, all about CeyFi itself. None of them touch anyone's money or records.

  • search_docs

Searches CeyFi's documentation: what it is, pricing, privacy, how records work, the FAQ and the demo.

  • get_products

What CeyFi Personal, Business and Orgs are, and which are live or coming soon.

  • get_pricing

What's free now and what's announced for later.

  • demo_guide

How to walk you through CeyFi Personal, including the sample data you can try before entering your own.

  • onboarding_questions

The questions to ask, a few at a time, to set up your first budget: income, fixed costs, savings goals, debts and dues. Never banking passwords.

  • join_waitlist

Records your interest in Business or Orgs early access, only after you've agreed to be contacted. It doesn't create an account.

03Privacy

Helpful in conversation, blind to your records.

  • It can't see your records.

CeyFi Personal keeps your records in your own browser. The MCP server has no tool that reads or writes them, and no way to reach them.

  • It asks for nothing secret.

No CeyFi account, API key or banking login. An assistant should never ask you for a password or OTP on CeyFi's behalf.

  • It only sends what you agree to.

The one tool that stores anything, join_waitlist, records interest in Business or Orgs early access, and only after you've said yes to being contacted.

  • It's stateless.

Each request stands alone. The server keeps no sessions and no record of your conversation.

04Developers

The protocol, plainly.

Send JSON-RPC 2.0 to POST https://ceyfi.app/api/mcp with Accept: application/json, text/event-stream. Replies are JSON; notifications get 202. There's nothing to stream, so GET and DELETE answer 405.

Plain-text summaries for language models are at /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt.
